Election Day Requirements
Iowa state law does not require you to prove your identity when you vote. However, you can bring any of these forms of identification with you to the polls to safeguard your right to vote:
- Current and valid photo ID card.
- Copy of a current document that shows your name and address such as a utility bill.
- Bank statement.
- Government check.
- Paycheck.
You may register to vote if you are 17 as long as you will turn 18 on or before Election Day (Tuesday, November 7th, 2006)You must be 18 years or older on Election Day to vote. To vote in the 2006 election, you must be registered to vote no later than Saturday, October 28th, 2006.
